Why Australian
Golfers are the Best!
You might think I am going to talk about someone like Greg
Norman and how he took Australian golf to the world. Maybe Adam Scott as
Masters champion, Jason Day re-emerging or Cameron Smith, Cam Davis and Ming
Woo Lee as the new breed of Australian golf stars?
That’s an easy way to fill an article, but not who I am
talking about.
If you are a golfer and reading this article, I am talking
about you. Yes that’s right, we put out the call and Aussie golfers came
through with the goods!
Let me explain.
Here at GolfSaleCentral.com.au
we wanted to find out more about our readers, soon to be viewers (of our
Youtube channel in the making) and our customers so we could give them, you,
exactly what you want. We didn’t want to guess, assume or force our opinions on
anyone.
That’s where the golfer’s survey found here at GolfSaleCentral.com.au/survey
comes in.
The survey is designed specifically for golfers. Starting
with what level of golfer you are, from the absolute beginner to the
experienced low handicapper.
There are some basic questions about your golf equipment and
what golf techniques and golf equipment you would like to know more about. But
one question, in particular, unearthed some real gold!
The question is:
If you could go back, what tip would you like to give
yourself as a beginner golfer?
It is the question to this question that both surprised and
heartened us here at GolfSaleCentral.com.au
It confirmed our thinking that while golf is an individual sport, camaraderie and
support shown by fellow golfers is alive and strong!
Here’s some examples
of the responses we have received so far:
Andrew K. of Queensland, Australia uses Cobra golf
equipment, Bridgestone balls and would like to see reviews on different
putters. Andrew says –
“Start earlier,
get lessons early, develop good habits.”
Mark R. from NSW, Australia uses TaylorMade golf equipment
and is interested in see reviews on different wedges. Mark simply says –
“Hit smooth before
hard.”
Chris M. also from NSW has a handicap below 20, uses
TaylorMade equipment and would like to see more on set up for Driving. Chris
would like to go back and tell himself –
“Slow Down your
Back swing. Get a couple of Lessons from a Pro. Spend time at the Golf Driving
Range getting your Swing right.”
Nathan V. uses Srixon golf equipment and balls, but would
like to see reviews on Titleist drivers. Nathan, also an experienced golfer
with a handicap below 20 (but working to lower further) suggests something that
we all need to tell ourselves from time to time –
“Don't go for
massive distance. A straight tee shot is a quality to contain.”
All fantastic tips not just for the beginner, but for any
golfer to keep in mind.
What was also interesting is that even advanced level
golfers would like tips and to be shown techniques on many aspects of the golf
game. Things like:
Bunker play. How
to deal with various lies in bunkers, ie wet, dry, firm, fluffy, uphill, for
longer or shorter carries.
Chipping, the full
program, tight lies, uphill, downhill, you know the lies that most people
struggle with, and putting, distance control the number 1 killer on all greens.
Bunker play and
short game chip and pitch

More great questions that we will get our golf pro to
demonstrate and answer shortly.
So what about yourself? Do you have tips and advice to
share? Golf questions you would like answered or simply like to share what golf
equipment you favour?
If so we would appreciate your feedback and invite you to
visit GolfSaleCentral.com.au/survey
and complete the golf survey like so many of your fellow golfers have already
done!
